Paralympics New Zealand launches new website and social media hub for Para-Sport

Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) has launched a brand new website and social media hub, designed to be a one-stop shop for all things Para-Sport in New Zealand. The launch comes just a few days ahead of the official ‘1 Year To Go’ milestone for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Monday 7 September 2015.

The website features two major innovations, to support the growth and development of Para-Sport in New Zealand:

The first is a secure online donation portal, which will provide kiwis with a quick and easy way to support PNZ directly.

The second forms the basis of the social media hub: PNZ is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Social Media Aggregator, Stackla. This partnership has seen the integration of its world-leading aggregation tool into the PNZ website, both on the home page and under the #spiritofgold tab at the top. This tool collects Paralympic New Zealand content posted by fans and the media across the social web – from Facebook to Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and more – and re-publishes it on the social media hub. This fantastic tool will give everyone an up-to-the-minute look at what’s happening in Para-Sport.

Other key highlights will include:

  • Detailed biographies about all current Para-Athletes and continually updated information on all Para-Sports available *

  • Resources to support new Para-Athletes entering Para-Sport, from ‘getting started’ to classification, coaching and competition

  • In-depth information about all upcoming major competitions, including calendars, on-site guides, and supporters and ticketing packages

  • Information about all community programmes run in New Zealand by Paralympics New Zealand and its various partners and members

  • Daily updated news and a thorough media section, allowing the public and media to get access to the latest available information

The website and social media hub will be updated on a continual basis now that they have been launched.

* There are 22 Para-Sports available in New Zealand. PNZ will publish details about all of these sports in due course.
